Welcome to Our Family! Introduce Yourself and Meet Fellow Members

Hello and a warm welcome to all new members!

I’m Cay Boychenko, the founder of ForMyParentsCare.com, and like many of you, I've navigated the challenging but rewarding path of caring for aging loved ones. Our forum is more than just a space for sharing information—it's a community where we unite in our shared experiences and support each other through the highs and lows of caregiving.

This "Meet & Greet" section is designed for you to introduce yourself to the community. Whether you’re new to caregiving or have been in this journey for a while, we’d love to hear your story.

Here’s a little guide to kick off your introduction:

  • Your Name: You can share your first name, nickname, or however you’d like us to address you.
  • Location: Let us know where you’re from. It’s always interesting to see how widespread our community is and to be able to share events in your area.
  • Your Caregiving Story: Briefly share your caregiving journey or the reasons you joined this forum.
  • Interests and Hobbies: What do you love doing in your spare time? Any hobbies or passions? It’s great to connect over common interests.
  • One Thing You Hope to Gain from This Forum: Whether it’s advice, support, or just making friends, let us know what you hope to achieve here.

Feel free to reply to others' introductions! Making connections here can provide comfort and support when you need it most. Remember, this journey is often tough, but together, we can make it a bit easier and maybe even find moments to smile along the way.

Looking forward to getting to know each of you. Let’s build a network of care, empathy, and understanding that enriches all our lives.

Warmest regards, Cay 🌸

Hello everyone,

I'm Catherine, and it's wonderful to be here in this supportive community. Thank you, Cay, for such a warm welcome!

I’m from Portland, Oregon. My caregiving journey began three years ago when my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions, from the overwhelming challenges to the deeply rewarding moments of connection and care.

In my spare time, I love gardening and painting. These hobbies give me a peaceful escape and a chance to recharge. I'm also passionate about reading, particularly historical fiction.

From this forum, I hope to gain not only practical advice but also emotional support. Sharing experiences and learning from others who understand the caregiving journey can be incredibly comforting.

Looking forward to connecting with you all and supporting each other on this path.

Best,
Catherine
